American airlines have started kicking passengers off their flights because of obese passengers who need two seats

Southwest Airlines is getting a mix of praise and criticism for its policy of giving free seats to overweight passengers to keep the excess mass at bay. Basic economics suggests that this will result in healthy travelers subsidizing the morbidly obese. Even worse, some skinny passengers will be kicked off flights to make room.
