Hamachi, produced by the company LogMeIn, is a free application that serves for creating VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) which are virtual LANs. The software makes a private IP address treated as public (without modifying firewalls or network routers) so computers can work remotely as they were connected directly with each other.
It can be used, for example, by players who can play private multiplayer matches in online games with this app. Hamachi offers also functions such as transferring files between computers or sharing printers.
It is also worth mentioning that the program, although it can be used for free, is also offered in paid version Premium which allows to connect up to 256 networks/computer at the same time (the free version is limited to 5 networks/computers).
